Soldier Palmer (variant)

A real 'super fly', the Soldier Palmer is one the first flies that gave me consistently good results, and still continues to do so to this day. God knows how many variations on the theme I've been through, but simple is always best, and this variant is where I'm at now - surprise, surprise, not a million miles form the original...that is, if you know exactly what the 'original' was!
Soldier Palmer Variants:
Hook: Kamasan B175 or B170 sizes10, 12 or 14.
Rib: Gold wire, or oval gold.
Body: Seal's fur mix - various reds.
Body Hackle: 'Red game' (brown) cock.
Shoulder Hackle: 'Red' hen.
Thread: Red or 'Wine' UTC 70 Denier.
