Hook: Size 10 or 12 Kamasan B175, B170 or B160.
Butt: Flat gold tinsel.
Tail: GP topping - One natural and one red.
Rib: Oval gold.
Body Mix: Grey squirrel & Fox squirrel mix.
Body Hackle: Grizzle hen dyed ginger.
Shoulder Hackle: Mandarin flank.
Cheeks: JC splits.
Head: Natural or ginger deer hair.
Thread: Black UTC 70 or 140 Denier.
A precursor to the 'Bugger's Muddle' series, utilizing a long shoulder hackle in the form of Mandarin duck flank (swapped for G.P. Body feather on the 'Bugger's Muddle') for added movement. Sub the Mandarin for bronze mallard if you cannot obtain Mandarin. A large, full dressing, best suited to a good wave, and/or sunk line work fished on the tail, suggesting a variety of foodstuffs from sedge pupa, adult sedge, fry, bullheads and shrimp.
