Hook: Kamasan B175 or B170 size 10 or 12.
Rib: Oval silver.
Body: Seal's fur, in thirds - black-red-black.
Body Hackle: Black hen.
Wing: Crow.
Shoulder Hackle: Red GP body feather.
Shoulder Hackle II: Black Hen.
Thread: Black.
A year or two ago in the northern parts of Ireland, they were releasing prisoners quicker and easier than information on this fly, or so I'm told. Best just throw a GP feather over it then to hide its identitiy. The Crow-Winged Bibio is a great fly for sure, with or without my addition of the GP feather, and not just at heather fly time. Try this one whenever the sky gets dark, mean and moody, and the waves match.
